We are often asked "where do we buy our Land Rovers from?" and "Who buys our Land Rovers?" - so below are some monthly highlights. Please feel free to bookmark this page and come back from time to time to see what we are up to and what is "new" |
Monday 1st February
PHG 968X - Now renamed "Lucy L" - safely delivered to her new home in Shoeburyness, Essex - so if you see her out and about with Jensen (the dog) riding shotgun - please give them a wave !
Also the LHD X-MOD Land Rover collected by Rolf on Saturday had a safe and uneventful drive back to Amsterdam - pictures to follow shortly !
Tuesday 2nd February
A couple of updates from vehicles previously sold
Chris (A Brit - now living in the USA) has sent some pictures of DRX 706K (recently purchased) arriving at it's new home in Texas:
Peter (another X-PAT - a good friend and customer since 1997 !), from Baltimore has sent us an update on progress of the restoration of his Series I - purchased from us way back in 2003 !
This particular Series I was featured in the TV series "Heartbeat" and driven by Maggie Bolton the District Nurse.
Wednesday 3rd February
Another buyer from Holland, Koen flew over to view YND 157X and has decided to purchase. Another one to convert to a soft top, with swing away tailgate and some new seats. It will be ready for collection in 3 weeks time.
It seems that I am unable to keep hold of a tow vehicle - after only 1 trip in my newly acquired 110 County - a local Land Rover enthusiast has taken a liking to it, and decided to buy:
Thursday 4th February.
Just a reminder from our workshops - After the snow and bad weather - it's always a good idea to have a check round your Land Rover - some routine maintenance may save you an expensive repaur bill !
Saturday 6th February
After 3 days of searching and a 200 mile round trip to Durham - I have finally found (another) replacement tow vehicle - This time a 2002 Discovery TD5 GS Automatic :-) :
Tuesday 9th February
First trip out for the Discovery - Delivery of PGB 734Y to Hertfordshire. The Land Rover will have an interesting garage mate - a beautiful 1950 Ford Pilot !
Those of you who follow our news page, will remember that "PGB" was a hard top that we have converted to a soft top for the new owner.
Wednesday 10th February
Our X - Coastguard Series III - B870 OJT has attracted a lot of attention, and it has now been bought over the phone, and will soon be starting a new life in London.
Friday 12th February
An E mail received from Chris Senior - He used to live in Huddersfield but now living in Borneo. He has just completed a 5 day 2000km from his home town to Kalimantan - Borneo - Crossing the Equator in the process. His only problem on the trip was having to empty the fuel bulb once due to the poor fuel quality. It just goes to show that even old Land Rovers are still very capable !
Saturday 13th February
Another Land Rover bought over the phone and on its way to London - this Lovely Series IIA Soft top MKY 622G:
Monday 15th February
Whilst we specialise in the older "Classic" series Land Rovers, we do try and keep some more modern Defenders too.
A Trip to Gloucestershire yealds a very clean 2002 - TD5 - 110 5 door station wagon
And a trip to Lancashire, sees a 110 300 TDi 5 door station wagon repatriated with us after 8 years.
Thursday 18th February
A late night collection means that VTY 641 - A stunningly restored 1962 Land Rover Series IIA Soft top is finally on its way to new owners in France:
Monday 22nd February
Whilst new stock is still difficult to source, we were very pleased to be able to travel to Carlisle over the weekend to collect this late Series III soft top, in excellent condition.
Tuesday 23rd February
YND 157X becomes T-47-66, ready for the trip back to Holland. Driving an unfamiliar vehicle, on unfamiliar roads was not a prospect Koen was looking forwards to, especially with his young family in tow, so it was arranged that we would deliver Koen, his family and the Land Rover safely to the Ferry in Hull.
Wednesday 24th February
Another purchase - this time a 1974 Series III on a galvanised chassis:
Friday 26th February
Officially "V8" day - with buyers for the 109" V8 Stage 1 - brought down from Edinburgh in September last year, and also our Red 90 V8 - both vehicles are genuine factory built V8's
Saturday 27th February
Sebastian from France called in to see us on his way back home, having been to Scotland to collect 2 "Snow Tracs", and has decided to purchase both our "Pre Production" One Ten Land Rovers, CWK 2Y and CWK 44Y (RHD Station wagon and LHD Hi Capacity pick up) - these will be restored and added to his collection of 23 other Land Rovers !
