We are often asked "where do we buy our Land Rovers from?" and "Who buys our Land Rovers?" - so below are some monthly highlights. Please feel free to bookmark this page and come back from time to time to see what we are up to and what is "new" |
Whilst the country is gripped in Blizzards and freezing conditions, it's "Business as usual" at the Land Rover Centre . . .
Saturday 2nd January
The first sales of the year are our low mileage Series III - PWK 726R - bought over the phone by a customer in Kent - to be delivered in a couple of weeks - and a walk in buyer for our very original Series I Land Rover, which will soon be off to North Yorkshire.

Wednesday 6th January
It's always nice to hear how customers are getting along with their Land Rovers, but this message below from Allan in Edinburgh (Who bought XKV 418V at the beginnning of December) was particularly welcome:
"I hope you and the family had a great christmas and all the best to you all for 2010.
Well baby Murray finally arrived, but only after XKV came to the rescue in getting Helen to the hospital. With the snow falling and cars struggling to stay on the road, XKV plodded on without complaint - quietly getting us there with time to spare.
After 2 days of Helen being in hospital, the time came to come home - only now we have had a further 2 days of constant snow.. With the buses stuck and the car parks empty due to deep snow - yet again XKV came to the rescue, bringing both mum and baby home safe and sound.
In doing so, XKV has become part of the family - and if you ask helen, possibly cared for more than her good self!!!
Thank you to all at LRC who have helped to bring our first born home safe & sound"
Another update and a couple of pictures - this time from Roy in Tipperary who recently purchased a stunning 1980 2 door Range Rover:
Happy New Year to You.
RHL 528X made it safely to my home in Tipperary in Ireland from your premises three weeks ago... A very enjoyable trip actually... And where you are you'll not need reminding how interesting the weather has been since... The Range Rover has a great heater for it!! Even still, we are up a steep hill and it just isn't safe to drive on the road, so I am using the five adjoining fields to get out of here and onto the nearest useable road.... So the car isn't quite as shiny as when it last left Huddersfield!!
Saturday 9th January
A buyer in Hertfordshire has taken a liking to PGB 734Y, which is to be converted to a soft top, prior to delivery. Just goes to show how diverse a Land Rover can be. More pictures will follow once it has been converted !

Wednesday 13th January
Work is continuing on two projects that we have on the go at the moment:
A LHD series III 109" in Limestone, rebuilt onto a galvanised chassis for a client in the US, and
A RHD Series IIA 109" Safari X-Home office, that is being returned to it's original Deep bronze Green Colour for a customer in London.

Friday 15th January
We have finally found space in the workshop for the "Barn Find" we bought back in October.
This 1963 Series IIA is having the engine stripped and rebuilt as a matter of caution - (as it had not run for 24 or 25 years !) + the addition of an unleaded cylinder head, and a new clutch fitted.
Once we have replaced all the fluids, and have it "up and running" we will look at what else is needed to recomission it - watch this space to see the progress.

Saturday 16th January
Finally after the weeks of snow and dangerous road conditions, deliveries and collections can begin again safely.
First out of the gate is the very original Series I sold at the beginning of the month, seen here being collected ready for it's trip to North Yorkshire:

Sunday 17th January
PWK 726R delivered safely to Jim in Kent - who will be using it for comuting to work, and taking his Dalmation out on trips to the coast. The North / South weather divide was quite apparant, with kent appearing positively "spring like" in comparison to Yorkshire !

With the bad weather, everything seems to be selling - even our trusty workhorse / tow vehicle Discovery !
Thursday 21st
At last - phone calls are beginning to come in for Land Rovers to buy. Below is one that is returning to us after 9 years - this will be the 3rd time we have bought and sold B870 OJT. It is an X-Coastguard, with low miles (56,000), capstan winch and GALVANISED CHASSIS. Still in very good condition, and will only require a small amount of preparation before going on sale.

Friday 22nd January
Although a wet and wild Friday afternoon is not the ideal time to be setting off on a 450 mile round trip, and doing battle with the M25 along the way, it was the day which had been arranged - so BFB 447V was loaded up ready for the journey to Godstone in Surrey:

A phone call late in the afternoon results in the sale of our LHD 90 soft top. It has only just recently returned to us, having spent a couple of years in Greece, and it looks like it will now be off to the South of France - Lucky Land Rover !
