When Luke first contacted us, he was very clear in his mind as to the vehicle he was looking for. It had to be a pick up (Truck cab), with rear canvas, rear seats, and a military style roll bar.
So we took the closest vehicle we had, this very straight 1983 X-MOD soft top, and carried out the necessary modifications. The hardest part of the whole job, was organizing the shipping to get the Land Rover to the small island, or Little Exuma, in the Bahamas. Our thanks go to F S Mackensie shipping, and Turks Island Shipping, for working together and getting the job done.

The Land Rover has now arrived safely, and we have just received this message:
"Hi Mark. I got word today that the Land Rover arrived safely and looks great! Thanks for your help. I will send pictures when I get down there next month. All best, Luke"
update January 2002
I also didn't tell you about how terrific the truck I bought from you for the Bahamas is. It has already done a great deal of hard work including hauling hundreds of bags of cement and pulling a full size tractor trailer with a flatbed out of a ditch by our home. The trailer had been used to transport block and other building supplies from the US to Exuma. They had dropped it off and left it for the better part of a year after we unloaded it. When they finally came back to pick it up, the tractor trailer driver got hopelessly stuck with his wheels half buried in mud on the side of our hill. We not only thought we would be stuck with the trailer, but also the truck itself. But the little brut of a Land rover pulled both out straight up the hill. I couldn't believe the power and torque of the land rover!! It was wonderful.
